Julian Morgan, CEO

Julian Morgan is the Founder, CEO, President, and Executive Producer of M and M Productions Inc. He has worked as a musician and a music producer for over 50 years. Julian has owned and operated his own recording studios in Southern California since 1982.

M and M Productions Inc. was founded in 2010. However, M and M Productions Inc. has been around for quite some time, evolving from its origin as Morgan and Morgan Productions, which was also founded by Julian in 1982. At that time, Julian owned and operated his own recording studio in Riverside, California….

Being a musician himself, he started this company with the intent of providing his local, hometown musicians an affordable recording studio where they could record and produce their own music. He progressively grew the business into a larger recording studio in the Riverside and Los Angeles areas. After years of operating his recording studios, he decided to expand the company in 2010.

In July of 1986, Mix Magazine wrote about Julian’s involvement with World Soundworks in Burbank, CA, where his work as a recording engineer and music producer were highlighted on two major projects. The first project was his work with Arthur Wright of Motown Records, to engineer and produce the Hill Sisters. The second project was working on songs for Hands Across America, a powerful charity event that raised $34 million to fight hunger, homelessness, and help those who are impoverished.

Julian’s in-depth experience and knowledge, acquired in over 50 years of hands-on music production, performance, and promotion work, has proven invaluable to the success of M and M Productions Inc. By expanding his vision of the company, he began assembling high caliber musicians, who have transcended into two R&B groups, 2Creation and 2Natural. These two groups through not only Julian’s shaping and training, but music composition as well, provide the unique sounds of American Soul and R&B to Asian night clubs that now sell out in Japan and China regularly and who are currently scheduled for multiple Asian tours throughout various venues.

Julian has written, recorded, produced, performed, and toured with groups and/or members of Tower of Power, Rose Royce, Commodores, Expose, A Taste of Honey, The Platters, Undisputed Truth, Rocky Padilla, Andrea Miller, Jessica Beaza, Z-Looke, Cedar Breaks and numerous other groups from a variety of genres, including Latin, Rock, Country, Jazz, and R&B.

In 2014 Julian co-wrote, produced, and arranged Jessica Baeza’s album, “Dame De Ti”, that was released by M and M Productions Inc. in 2015. In 2016 we were proud to announce that this album was nominated for two Tejano Grammys.

In addition to his many other accomplishments, Julian is CEO/President of the Inland Empire Musicians Hall of Fame.

Charles C. Johnson, Music Director

For 10 of the 12 years, Charles Johnson played in the Jr & Sr band, showcasing his musical talents on the Baritone Horn, Drums, and B Flat Trumpet. Upon graduating in 1970, he pursued higher education at Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. During the summer of 1971, a vacation in Southern California led him to Highgrove, where he delved into the local music scene.

In Highgrove, Charles connected with like-minded musicians who reignited his passion for music, reminiscent of his days playing in juke joints with cousins Duke & Michael Burks. Notably, Michael would later be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and designated as the Music Ambassador of Blues for Arkansas.

What was initially a summer vacation evolved into a permanent relocation, with music becoming his lifelong pursuit. Charles joined several bands, including Truth, Raggz, and Cutty. In 1980, he established Johnsound Recording Studio in downtown Riverside, later merging with StageMaster Productions, led by CEO Julian Morgan. This union gave birth to The OG Bad Boys, a Rock & Soul Band. While Charles shifted from horn player to bass guitarist, his love for music remained steadfast. The band included Jeffrey (JD) Norris on Drums and Percussions (RIP), Billy (Boy) Gonzales on Keys and Piano, Tyrone (Terriblet) Cowens (RIP), and Bobby G on Guitar, with Trey Stone & Mark Douglas handling Guitar and studio recording.

Charles embarked on a remarkable journey in music, filled with memorable experiences, rewards, and encounters with stars and celebrities. He graced renowned venues such as Speak Easy, Trubadour, Mr. Woodley’s, Four Torches, and the Queen Mary, to name a few. Those years were invaluable for learning and growth. His journey continued as he took on roles as Music Director and Graphic Designer for the IEMHOF (Inland Empire Musicians Hall of Fame), becoming an integral part of this growing institution. The adventure doesn’t end here—join Charles and enjoy the ride.
